The NFL season is finally here on Thursday night as the defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs will be hosting the Detroit Lions. Both of these teams are expected to be good this season, and a win for the Detroit Lions will show that all of the hype would be worth it.
The Chiefs are obviously expected to be one of the best teams in the NFL again, and will be until Patrick Mahomes decides to retire it seems.

The NFL gets to showcase its greatest resource to start its season. As stated above, Patrick Mahomes is leading the Chiefs offense that has been to three Super Bowls in his five years of starting. The expectation for the Chiefs is the same.
Super Bowl or Bust. For the Lions, Jared Goff is a former number one overall pick, who has made it to a Super Bowl as well. Goff has been the subject of a lot of criticism in his career, despite being statistically solid his whole career.

The Chiefs lost Tyreek Hill last offseason, but that didn’t slow them down at all. Travis Kelce is still one of the best weapons in the NFL. A whole lot of speed on the outside in Kadarius Toney, Skyy Moore, Marquez Valdez-Scantling, and Justyn Ross make up an explosive crew.
The running game is led by Isiah Pacheco and Jerick McKinnon. They also have Clyde Edwards-Helaire who has flashed at times for the Chiefs. The Lions are loaded at the skill positions as well. Led by Amon-Ra St. Brown, the receiving core will be bolstered once Jameson Williams gets back from suspension, but Goff is used to playing without the game-breaker.
